Opportunities for expanding trade and economic relations between Bulgaria and Japan have been discussed at the Bulgarian-Japanese Economic Forum that took place in the Ministry of Economy. The main goal of the forum was to present opportunities Bulgaria offers in the field of trade, as well as the conditions for investments and the Bulgarian industrial zones. Trade turnover between Bulgaria and Japan over the past five years remained at a level of over 100 million US dollars. The upward trend in bilateral trade continued in the period January-October 2014, reaching 128 million USD - an increase of 22.2% compared to the same period of 2013, it was reported. So far in Bulgaria a number of Japanese investments have been implemented in areas such as electrical equipment for cars, healthcare, renewable energy, and service activities.
