President Radev launches 16th edition of Bulgarian Christmas charity initiative

The 16th edition of the Bulgarian Christmas charity initiative was officially launched in Stara Zagora under the patronage of President Rumen Radev.  

This year the initiative is focused on children with severe diseases and the purchasing of modern specialized equipment for their treatment.

“The Bulgarian Christmas is more than a campaign, it is a cause uniting the entire Bulgarian nation,” said the Bulgarian head of state at the opening ceremony. He added that the 2017/2018 Bulgarian Christmas campaign raised 2.6 million Leva in aid of saving children's lives. The money raised helped the diagnosis, treatment and rehabilitation of 505 children, and the purchase of medical equipment for 22 medical establishments throughout the country
