17th edition of Bulgarian Christmas campaign raises funds for treatment of severely ill children

A charity show will be held tonight at the Ivan Vazov National Theatre in Sofia which is the culmination of the Bulgarian Christmas initiative. The initiative is being held for the 17th consecutive year and goes under the patronage of Bulgaria’s President Rumen Radev and his wife Desislava Radeva. The campaign aims at helping solve significant problems connected with children’s healthcare in this country. The funds of this year's campaign, raised through bank transfers and text messages by citizens will be used for purchasing high-tech equipment for accurate diagnosis, modern treatment and active rehabilitation of severely ill children. National Security Service staff alone have already donated over 4,300 euros to the cause.

The first edition of the Bulgarian Christmas campaign took place in 2003 and was initiated by then President Georgi Parvanov.
