Fourteen-day incidence rate falls below 400 Covid-19 cases per 100,000 people

The fourteen-day Covid-19 morbidity rate has dropped below 400 cases per 100,000 people, said for BTV Professor Todor Kantardzhiev, Director of the National Center of Infectious and Parasitic Diseases. Despite the positive trend, we have not yet emerged from the third wave of the Covid-19 pandemic, said Todor Kantardzhiev. In his words, when a country passes the peak of Covid-19 morbidity, the mortality rate increases and the number of Covid-19 hospitalizations remains constant for another 2 or 3 weeks. There will be few cases of Covid-19 in Bulgaria later during the autumn, mainly local clusters of Covid-19 cases, predicts the health expert.

Dr. Abdullah Zargar: small towns and villages need young doctors

The hospital in Isperih is coping better with the third wave of Covid-19, its former director Dr. Abdullah Zargar said in an interview for BNR. The story of the Iranian doctor, who settled in Bulgaria almost 20 years ago, touched the people of Bulgaria. Thousands of patients supported their favorite orthopedist and signed a petition in support of his Bulgarian citizenship. Dr. Abdullah Zargar was granted Bulgarian citizenship in February this year. Like other Bulgarian hospitals, the staff shortage remains a major problem in Isperih's hospital. Dr. Zargar hopes that the young doctors will not leave Bulgaria and will go to small towns and villages instead.
