Writer Georgi Gospodinov wins Zinklar Award

Bulgarian writer Georgi Gospodinov is this year's winner of the Zinklar Award. The Zinklar Award is given to a Danish or a foreign short story writer appointed by the Danish Writers Association, BNT reported. The award has been bestowed since 2013. It is named after the Danish writer Finn Zinklar who willed his fortune to a prize to be awarded to eminent writers of short stories from all over the world. British writer Julian Barnes, American authors Lydia Davis and Lorrie Moore and German writer Judith Hermann are among the winners of Zinklar Award.

The winner of Zinklar Award is selected by a Danish jury composed of writers and critics. The award will be presented at a special ceremony in Copenhagen on September 10. The award is to the tune of DKK 100,000
