Today, the Bulgarian head of state Rumen Radev will present the national flag to the researchers of the 30th Bulgarian Antarctic Expedition before their departure for the Ice Continent. In their jubilee expedition, the Bulgarian researchers will work on 7 projects, including a project examining the sleep of polar explorers in Antarctica, the influence of ultraviolet rays on the skin and the study of the movement of the earth's crust.
Bulgaria began its polar activity in Antarctica in 1967-1969, when a Bulgarian meteorologist participated in the 13th Soviet Antarctic Expedition.
