President Rumen Radev, who attended the ceremony at the monument to Vasil Levski marking the 150th death anniversary of the national hero, started his speech with the following words of the Apostle of Freedom: "The path you have to walk does not end with my death".
"A century and a half separates us from the day when the Apostle of Bulgarian freedom was hanged. Over those 150 years Bulgaria has experienced a lot - upsurge, terror, triumphs and disasters, but the Bulgarians' reverence for Vasil Levski has remained sacred and his words have outlived the ages.
