Bulgarian government delegation to pay visit to the USA

"The council meeting ended successfully and we have a decision on the support for Ukraine," Prime Minister Nikolai Denkov told journalists in Brussels after the end of today's meeting of the European Council, BNT has reported. Within the framework of the council, the prime minister has held a number of bilateral meetings related to the full membership of Bulgaria into Schengen and the Eurozone, BNR correspondent in Brussels, Angelina Piskova, has reported.

PM Denkov also confirmed the information presented today in the parliament by the leader of GERB, Boyko Borissov, that a visit of a "huge delegation to the USA" is planned and indicated that it was "quite normal to prepare a trip to the USA, which is the main partner of the country." "I am very surprised that someone is questioning whether the Prime Minister is planning a trip to the USA. We do not have fixed dates yet, but yes, such a business trip is being planned. I see a rather serious attempt to thwart the possibility of direct contacts between me and the people I work with in the USA, which cannot be done," the prime minister commented, quoted by BTA.

On March 6, rotation of prime ministers will take place and the position of Nikolai Denkov /PP-DB/ should be taken by Mariya Gabriel /GERB-SDS/.
