A Belize-flagged, UK-registered and Lebanese-operated cargo ship sailing from the United Arab Emirates to the Bulgarian port of Varna was attacked on Sunday in the Bab al Mandab Strait, between the Gulf of Aden and the Red Sea, Reuters reported, citing British maritime security company Ambrey.
The United Kingdom Maritime Trade Operations (UKMTO) announced that it had received a report of an incident 35 nautical miles south of the Yemeni port of Al Mukha, and that an explosion in close proximity to a vessel had resulted in damage.
