The Russian arms company Freshvale, registered in Sofia, has been selling combat drones and weaponry to Russia despite imposed sanctions, said the US Department of the Treasury. Freshvale EOOD, a Bulgaria-based UAV manufacturer, marketed Russian UAVs with offensive capabilities, such as weapons systems and missiles to an African country.
According to the Bulgarian commercial register, the owner is Austrian citizen Ariel Israilov. The company was registered in Sofia in 2018 with a capital of BGN 2. The company's website says it offers ARROW-2 drones with a jet engine and BOREY 10 - designed for tactical missions with increased flight time. Dmitry Romanov, a Russian citizen residing in Bulgaria, heads the Business Development department. Over 90 individuals and entities from Russia, Belarus, British Virgin Islands, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, China, Serbia, South Africa, Turkey and the UAE are included in the sanctions list under Regulation E.O. 14024.
