14 Bulgarian museums are presenting more than 150 exhibits in the exhibition "Ancient Thrace and the Classical World: Treasures from Bulgaria, Romania and Greece" at the J. Paul Getty Museum in Los Angeles. The exhibition will run from November 3 2024 to March 3 2025, the National Archaeological Institute with Museum at the Bulgarian Academy of Sciences told BTA.

Representatives of the institute noted that Bulgarian artefacts accounted for more than 90 per cent of all items in the exhibition. The museum in Los Angeles has already hosted the exhibitions "Egypt and the Classical World" (2018) and "Ancient Iran and the Classical World" (2022). Exhibitions on Phoenicia and Anatolia are in the pipeline," says Associate Professor Margarit Damyanov. According to him, Ancient Thrace takes its rightful place in this ambitious plan, which within a decade will present to the world the interactions of different cultures in the Mediterranean and beyond.
