State Reserve and Wartime Stocks Agency Chairman: Bulgaria has sufficient quantities of fuel

Bulgaria has sufficient quantities of fuel and the 90-day reserves are secured at around 98%, Asen Asenov, Chairman of the State Reserve and Wartime Stocks State Agency, told bTV. The country has a gasoline reserve for 35 days and a diesel reserve for over 50 days. In the event of a crisis, fuel from the reserve can be distributed without the bio-component to reach the market faster. The price for the end consumer will follow market rates to avoid shocks and speculation, Asen Asenov added.

The Burgas refinery will continue operating, but even if it stops or reduces its capacity, contingency plans are in place to ensure that crude oil can still be processed into final petroleum products, Asen Asenov explained.
