The nominated person for special manager for the four companies of "Lukoil Bulgaria" is Rumen Spetsov, Minister of Economy, Petar Dilov, said. "He meets all legal requirements", Dilov added. The decision was discussed at the Security Council to the Council of Ministers, convened by Prime Minister Rosen Zhelyazkov in connection with the sanctions announced by the US against the company, which are due to come into force on November 21. Rumen Spetsov is currently the executive director of the National Revenue Agency.

"The refinery is an element of critical infrastructure and the state has commitments for the benefit of society. The goal is for it to continue its operational activities unhindered after November 21," Prime Minister Rosen Zhelyazkov said.

We recall that President Rumen Radev vetoed the legal changes related to the special manager, saying that the manager would be able to sell shares and property and the contracts would be beyond administrative and judicial control. The veto was overcome by the parliament.
