Beronium or stone of goodness?

Photo fuse: Vergil Mitev

Have you ever heard of the magical Beronium stone? It brings joy, heals, attracts friends and gives birth to hopes. Now you most likely are asking where you can buy it from. It is situated really close, you need just a bit of an effort to find it. All you have to do is… ask your heart on the direction.

Boryana Kirilova reveals the mystery and talks on the magical properties of the Beronium stone. It is a symbol of the new initiative, named How Much Does It Cost to Change the World of the Bulgarian Donor’s Forum. Actually the name Beronium originates from the image of Bulgaria’s Revival activist Dr. Petar Beron, printed on the BGN 10 bill. If you want to possess the stone of good, it won’t be easy – it doesn’t exist in the material world. However, if you decide to donate BGN 10 over a certain period of time, it is as if you have found it – you are among the lucky guys, because you have reached your hand towards those, who need help. The BNR is also a media partner of the initiative. Boryana Kirilova goes on to say:

“We had a dream goal – would it be possible to motivate 100,000 people to start donating BGN 10 /EUR 5/ each month? This means BGN 12 mln. per year /some EUR 6 mln./. The sum is big enough to change the surrounding environment, it could actually change the destiny of many people and many organizations. We named the campaign How Much Does It Cost to Change the World and the facetious answer is: EUR 5. Besides that everyone of us admitted that he or she spent EUR 5 last month on some caprice, on something quite senseless. We can donate the money on a good cause instead. So, we created a product that doesn’t exist, named it Beronium and attached non-existing properties to it – it heals depression, makes you happier and changes the world around.”

When one decides to donate small sums, it would be normal to ask what this donation could change.

“If you donate BGN 10 /EUR 5/ each month, this means BGN 120 or EUR 60 per year. For instance, this is the price of 6 prophylactic medical examinations of people in a vulnerable position, or 20 saplings planted, which make a small forest. This means 6 months of rehabilitation with a speech therapist for a person with intellectual difficulties, it could mean the printing of photography materials for an exhibition. These examples in different spheres show that EUR 60 can do quite a lot actually.”

The campaign has a website, named Stanidaritel.com. One can select there a geographical area within Bulgaria, where he or she wants to donate. The sphere of donation can be opted for as well – ecology, children in need, social support, culture, education… The donating method can be picked up too – an SMS, via a credit or a debit card, or other possible financial mechanisms for the support of a good cause. The telephone of the Bulgarian Donor’s Forum is 0359 2 951 59 78, Boryana Kirilova goes on to say:

“Actually from now on we are engaged to provide a personal donation plan within a week or 10 days to everyone, willing to donate now that the website has been brought to life and people already show interest in its options. It will depend on the sphere they have selected. We will give them a piece of advice on where they can donate regularly, if they have decided to spend the sum mentioned – BGN 10 or EUR 5 on a cause they have selected.”
