A campaign entitled "Share music, emotions, and culture” is kicking off in Sofia today and will run until June 27. The venue - the fountains in front of the Ivan Vazov National Theatre, Patriarch Euthymius Square aka Popa, and many more landmark locations in the capital city. Popular artists of all ages and genres will perform, including Beloslava, Mastilo band, Tumbaito latino band, Eva Quartet, Nightingale Quartet, the Diva Reka (Wild River) ethnic group, classical and jazz groups. They will present their musical surprises also at the exits of the subway and at tram stops... Along two of the lines we will see trams with the names of the organizers inscribed on them - Musicautor, Profon, Sofia Municipality, the Bulgarian Association of Music Producers, the Bulgarian Music Association and the Bulgarian hip-hop association. With this initiative we offer support to Sofia’s bid for European Capital of Culture in 2019, says Ivan Dimitrov, CEO of Musicauthor. He told RB more:

"Our cause is based on cultural principles that we hope to be respected in the future. In February, several organizations signed framework agreements with Sofia Municipality for cooperation in settling copyright with owners of restaurants, event organizers and etc. This demonstrates the willingness of institutions to help solve problems in this area. This campaign is unmatched so far. It includes all the associations representing the music and cultural industry in this country. The underlying idea is to bring a positive mood and promote the art we create and share with people."

The concerts will take place every day between 6 and 7 pm. For the numerous football fans this is the time after work, before the next World Cup match. "Selecting these hours, we thought about them, too", said popular percussionist Kalin Velyov. He has been entrusted with the organization of the musical events within the campaign:

"Our main goal is to stir the daily routine with good emotions and positive mood. Also, we want to show the public that Sofia Municipality really supports music and artists. Our media partners are all national media. They will broadcast coverage of events every day. I am happy that in my town there is a large pedestrian area at Vitosha Blvd where artists and musicians gather. We have invited well-known persons from sports and politics. They will get on the trams one stop before the venue of the next concert, will talk with people and then listen to music with them”, says Kalin Velyov.

The audio file contains the following tracks:

Love, performed by Mastilo band

It’s Summer Again, performed by Kalin Velyov

Impatience, performed by Tumbaito band, guest vocalist Nina Nikolina

English Rossitsa Petcova
