South Stream does not affect Black Sea ecology

Construction and operation of underwater pipelines are not expected to have a significant impact on the ecology of the Bulgarian Black Sea coast. These are the conclusions of the report for assessment of the environmental impact for the Bulgarian stretch of the South Stream gas pipeline. The report was prepared by international experts URS Infrastructure and Environment UK Limited and contains additional analyzes of the environment, cultural heritage and socio-economic aspects of the project as well as the efforts of the company to engage the project stakeholders.
