On November 24 Sofia is hosting a major musical event – Rock&Roll, fused with symphony music. The occasion: the 80th jubilee of the BNR, marked with different events over 80 weeks. In this series of events the concert at the National Palace of Culture is the largest project so far, thanks to the efforts of the BNR Music House. For the first time one stage will bring together Orlin Goranov, Milena with Revu, Factor, Diana Express, Analgin, Signal, Konkurent and many others. These pop and rock musicians will perform their best pieces together with the Symphony Orchestra of the BNR. Grigor Palikarov will be the conductor. The audience will have the chance to enjoy hits like Dusha, Ako Ti SI Otidesh Za Mig, Sbogom, Spasenie etc. The arrangements will be new ones, performed by Georgi Andreev and Roumen Boyadzhiev Jr. The organizers have also included the works of unforgettable musicians that are no longer with us, such as Georgi Minchev, Chocho Vladovski and Dimitar Voev from Nova Generacia. Their hits will be performed in new versions, but also with new voices. Faktor’s front man Vesselin Todorov gives us details of the concert:
“We are really glad to take part in this jubilee concert. I do love the Bulgarian National Radio, as my first recording there was back in 1966. The format the BNR has chosen to celebrate its 80th anniversary is really remarkable. I am really glad that the event at the National Palace of Culture will be shown on TV, it will be released on CD as well. Faktor is taking part in the concert on November 24 with Glavnata Ulitsa (Main Street) – a composition that goes back 25 years. We have also prepared a musical gift for the birthday of the national radio. I composed a song exclusively for this occasion, called Radio. We expect it to be broadcast and we hope that fans will like it. I think the concert will bring a good mood to those, who know that good Bulgarian music is still being made. We should do our best to ptomote it in future. The event on November 24 is a large-scale and ambitious project. Glavnata Ulitsa with an orchestra involved sounds so much better, thanks to the arrangement by Georgi Andreev. He is a universal musician, with a pronounced sense of aesthetics. He has an incredible flair and knows the limits to which his abilities in music should be pushed.”
