After the terrorist attacks Friday night, which took the lives of over 140 people in Paris, French President Francois Hollande announced a state of emergency. During a special security meeting on Sunday he called the attacks "a horror" and vowed to mercilessly fight terrorism. Unprecedented measures including closing the borders were taken immediately after the attacks.
