Preparations have started for a military exercise near the southern Bulgarian borders, the Ministry of Defense reported and added this was in relation to the current refugee crisis in Greece. The actual exercise starts on March 5 and it is to be held in the region of Petrich. The drill is called "Border 2016" and comes after a decision taken at a cabinet meeting earlier this week. The Ministry of Defense, Ministry of Interior, and the Bulgarian Red Cross will all take part in it. Border 2016 aims at "maintaining readiness for response in case of possible increased migratory pressure," the Bulgarian Ministry of Defence also said.
