Over 1,000 citizens of the town of Kresna in southwestern Bulgaria protested against the possible establishment of a refugee camp in their municipality. The district governor of Blagoevgrad, Biser Mihaylov, has admitted that because of expectations of a massive migrant wave towards Bulgaria, authorities have checked about places where refugee camps could be built. However, no formal decisions have been taken yet. Efforts of the Bulgarian government are now aimed at restricting access of illegal migrants to the territory of this country. That is why there is increased presence of border police, gendarmerie and parts of the Bulgarian Army along the Bulgarian borders. Training of other formations that are to participate in guarding the borders with Greece and Macedonia also continue, Mr. Mihaylov added.
