The gas hub project on the Bulgarian Black Sea coast is expected to be finalized within six weeks, Deputy Prime Minister Tomislav Donchev said, commenting on the subject with representatives of the American Chamber of Commerce.

In his words the major gas hub project is currently being developed together with the European Commission in great detail from a technical, legal and economic standpoint. Being developed in such a way is a guarantee that the model will be sustainable over time and that there can be no infringement procedure over it. We must make the best of the fact that the country stands at a crossroads – of transport but also of gas corridors, Tomislav Donchev said.

The interconnector with Romania is in its final stage; constructing the Greece-Bulgaria interconnector – which is key to this country but also to the entire region of Southeast Europe – is a top priority for inter-system connectivity, said on her part Minister of Energy Temenuzhka Petkova.
