Ministry of Economy with no option to influence Sofia BT cigarette factory: Minister Bojidar Loukarsky

The Ministry of Economy has no tools whatsoever to influence a private company, said Minister of Economy Bojidar Loukarsky taking a question from the press about the closedown of Sofia BT cigarette factory. The reason for the closedown is still unclear and is subject to checks including by the National Assembly, Loukarsky said. So far 310 workers have handed in notifications for leaving their jobs from a total number of about 420. Workers and employees are bracing for a new protest tomorrow.
