Forming efficient army must complete successfully: President Plevneliev

Forming a modern and efficient army able to guarantee the country’s national security, compatible with the armies of NATO allies and fit to carry out its tasks, should be completed successfully, said President Rosen Plevneliev at a ceremony for awarding soldiers with higher officer ranks on the eve of the Day of Valor and the Bulgarian Army May 6. He said he relied on support from all institutions in the country for the implementation of the strategic program for the development of the armed forces until 2020. The country’s NATO membership is the strongest guarantee for independence, sovereignty and territorial integrity of Bulgaria, Plevneliev said.
