If, in the end, I have to choose between stability and peoples’ rights and democracy, I would choose the rights of the people, Bulgaria’s Prime Minister Boyko Borissov told the media on Sunday during his visit to the town of Kotel, commenting on President Plevneliev’s veto on the Election Code, Focus agency informs. The President has the right to impose a veto, because he has his arguments, Premier Borissov further said. The Election Code should have been changed in the part concerning the referendums and the results of the referendums initiated by the head of state. However, when Pandora’s box was opened, each party tried to push in as many of their election programs as possible, Premier Borissov commented, adding that he asked the parliamentary group of the Patriotic Front for a meeting next Tuesday, in order to discuss with them the issue concerning the voting of the Bulgarians who live abroad.
