At a forum entitled Ratification of CETA Agreement Between EU and Canada-Are We Aware Of What We Are Signing several non-governmental organizations urged the Bulgarian cabinet to refuse the ratification of the trade agreements with the USA and Canada (the Transatlantic Trade and Investment Partnership Agreement and the Comprehensive Economic and Trade Agreement). The forum was held in Bulgaria’s capital Sofia. Experts contend that the possible ratification of those agreements would allow US companies to prevail in Europe. On Friday the EU will again hold talks with Canada about the possible signature of CETA agreement, the national representative of the campaign against those trade agreements Georgi Hristov announced. Vanya Grigorova from Solidary Bulgaria organization warned that the European labor and environmental standards will be avoided if those agreements are ratified.
