The Regional Historical Museum in Veliko Tarnovo has announced a campaign to raise donations for the placement of a large Bulgarian national flag at the medieval fortress Trapezitsa in the town. Donation boxes have been placed at Tsarevets hill and at four most-visited museums and medieval churches in the town.

After in 2005 a large flag was raised at Tsarevets hill, now we want to do the same at the second most important fortress of the medieval Bulgarian capital, said the director of Regional History Museum Ivan Tsarov.

The idea is that the flag will be hoisted on Trapezitsa hill on September 22, when we celebrate the independence of Bulgaria announced in 1908 in Veliko Tarnovo.
