President Plevneliev opens National Teacher’s Council in Arena Armeec Sports Hall in Sofia

The revival of the Bulgarian education must be a long-term and strategic national priority, Bulgaria’s President Rossen Plevneliev said upon opening the National Teacher’s Council in Arena Armeec Sports Hall in Sofia on Sunday in the presence of 12,000 teachers from all parts of Bulgaria. You are the representatives of the most important professional community and the ones who most largely determine the future of the country. I am excited to attend this event, because my parents are teachers and I know well the pleasure they felt with their profession. The best investment for the country is the education of the young people, President Plevneliev further said in his speech. Bulgaria’s Minister of Education and Science Meglena Kuneva will accentuate on the challenges of the new Pre-school and School Education Act. Deputy Minister of Education and Science Diyan Stamatov will present detailed information about the new state education standards. He will also talk about the priorities of the Science and Education for Smart Growth Operational Programme.
