Half ton of Russian vodka, pharmaceuticals with narcotic substance seized at Danube Bridge checkpoint

Customs officers at the Danube Bridge border checkpointhave intercepted more than half a ton of Russian vodka and pharmaceuticals with a narcotic substance. The delivery was spotted by inspectors from the Department for Combatting Drug Trafficking during a check of a bus with Russian registration. The bus was traveling from Russia to Greece and had entered Bulgaria via the Danube Bridge border checkpoint at Giurgiu – Rousse. After a thorough check of the bus boxes of alcohol without excise bands, labeled with leading brands were found, as well as pharmaceuticals from two brands, however containing the narcotic substance phenobarbital.
