Bulgaria’s National Assembly has officially passed restrictions on the number of polling stations for Bulgarian expats wishing to cast their ballots in general or presidential elections abroad. There will be a maximum of 35 polling stations in each country. The text about the number of the polling stations provoked tense debates. The number of the polling stations was negotiated by consensus between the ruling parties, following a series of protests held by Bulgarians living abroad due to the initial restrictions.
