Grigor Dimitrov qualifies for second round of Rogers Cup

Bulgarian tennis player Grigor Dimitrov secured a difficult victory against Japanese Yuichi Sugita, who is 107th in the world, thus qualifying for the second round of the Rogers Cup tennis tournament in Toronto. Dimitrov won 5-7, 7-6 (7-5) 6-4. The Bulgarian will face next Canadian wild-card holder Denis Shapovalov. In the doubles Dimitrov and Stan Wawrinka from Switzerland won their first match 4:6, 7:6 (2), 12:10 against Dominic Thiem from Austria and Lucas Pouille (France). The prestigious Rogers Cup tournament is played on hard courts and its prize fund totals 4,089,740 dollars.
