The European Commission has agreed that natural gas from Russia could be delivered to the "Balkan" gas hub. This is what European Commission President Jean-Claude Juncker wrote in a letter to Bulgarian Prime Minister Boyko Borissov. The only condition is complying with European rules on access to infrastructure. The project for the "Balkan" gas hub will be discussed in detail in September. In response to a letter by Prime Minister Boyko Borissov, Juncker also pointed out that the European Commission agreed Bulgaria to build a new nuclear reactor, as the country should notify the Commission in accordance with the requirements.
