At the beginning of its autumn session, the Bulgarian National Assembly rejected the request of the Bulgarian Socialist Party for explanations from Prime Minister Boyko Borisov about his recent visits to Turkey and Germany. The Socialists accuse Borisov that he acted as a "messenger" of Ankara in its dispute with the EU over the refugee issue. The ruling GERB party say the actions of the PM were driven by national interests in the sphere of security.
