The Czech Republic will help Bulgaria protect the EU external border, the President of that country Milos Zeman said at a press conference after the meeting with his Bulgarian counterpart Rossen Plevneliev in Prague. Both countries will soon co-ordinate the technical details regarding the necessary assistance, President Zeman pointed out. In his view, the EU member states must show solidarity with the countries subject to highest migration pressure. Bulgaria has been working effectively along the longest land border between the EU and Turkey since the beginning of the migration crisis, President Plevneliev said in return. The positive results are based on good cooperation between the Bulgarian and the Turkish authorities, Rossen Plevneliev further pointed out. We must work together with Turkey, in order to counter successfully migrant smuggling and respect the rights and the freedoms of the migrants. We believe that the migrant readmission agreement between the EU and Turkey will be fulfilled successfully, President Plevneliev also said.
