Promoting trade and economic relations between Bulgaria and Russia was in the focus of attention at a meeting of the Bulgarian-Russian intergovernmental committee on economic, scientific and technological cooperation held in Varna.
Bulgaria was represented by Energy Minister Temenuzhka Petkova and Deputy Economy Minister Daniela Vezieva and Russia – by First Deputy Minister of Justice Sergey Gerasimov. “We have an interest in restoring the bulk of bilateral economic cooperation and more specifically trade with Russia,” said Deputy Minister Vezieva. She pointed out that Bulgaria was concerned about the drop in bilateral trade. “We would like to see the quantities of Bulgarian commodities on the Russian market restored, such as medicines, construction equipment, fittings, automobile parts, perfumery, cosmetics.”
