Deputy Interior Minister Philip Gounev has announced that the government asked the European Commission for additional financial assistance of some 5 million euro, in order to be able to move at least one of the refugee centers out of the capital city of Sofia to a more acceptable place. The decision was taken as a result of social tension that has been rising near refugee centers in the capital city in recent weeks and months. It is expected that the government's intention will be realised within a year.
