Bulgaria’s capital Sofia placed among the world’s 30 fastest developing cities. Moreover, that city is first in Europe in terms of GDP (gross domestic product) growth in the past ten years, Sofia city Mayor Yordanka Fandakova announced at the first meeting with Mayors from Central and Eastern Europe and the Chinese 16+1 Initiative. Mayor Fandakova noted that the number of tourists visiting Sofia has increased with 60% in the past six years. Yordanka Fandakova reminded that the credit agencies reaffirmed Sofia’s rating, which allows that city to attract more investments. Mrs Fandakova also pointed out that according to a Bloomberg ranking, Sofia places 3rd in Europe in terms of the number of start-up companies in the IT field.
