Europol cracks down on international criminal network thanks to information from Sofia

The Bulgarian Ministry of Interior has announced that thanks to its information and together with Europol in Austria, Hungary, Slovakia and Belgium, an operation took place to neutralize an organized criminal group, specialized in illegal production of cigarettes. A total of 16 people have been arrested and two factories were discovered. 17 tons of tobacco have been confiscated, as well as more than 500 million cigarettes, machinery and other materials used in the criminal activity. The process of assessing the damage done by the activity continues.
