Slovakia sent 25 Police officers to Bulgaria to help that country guard its border with Turkey. They will stay in Bulgaria at least one month and later will be substituted by other colleagues. This is Slovakia’s first participation at the new European Border and Coast Guard Agency, which recently replaced FRONTEX agency. I am happy that the EU can contribute to that mission which includes just over 200 policemen, of whom 25 from Slovakia, that country’s Minister of Interior Robert Kaliňák said. In his words, the migration flow through Greece and Macedonia decreased and Bulgaria has started to feel the biggest migrant pressure. That is why the new European Border and Coast Guard agency sent policemen in that country first.
