Unemployment continues downward trend in September

A total of 255,466 persons were registered at employment agencies at the end of September. Compared to August these figures indicate a drop by 6,059 people.
On a yearly basis, compared to September 2015 the number of unemployed is now considerably lower – 47,309 – indicate National Employment Agency data. The level of registered unemployed continued its downward trend in September and now stands at 7.8 percent, a 0.2 percentage points drop compared to August 2016, with the tendency of the active summer season continuing. Compared to September 2015 employment levels have dropped considerably – by 1.4 percent.
