An agreement is expected to be signed by the end of this month between the National Electric Company and Atomstroyexport on when the Bulgarian state company should pay the amount of 620 million euro without interests to the Russian company Atomstroyexport for equipment ordered for the N-plant at Belene, Energy Minister Temenuzhka Petkova has said. The payment should be made under a ruling of the Court of Arbitration in Geneva. The agreement will specify deadlines of payments and possible installments. Asked what timetable has been suggested by Bulgaria, the minister has said it was still being discussed with Russia. The first Belene reactor is completed in full; Russia claims this is also the case with the second one but Bulgarian experts have not inspected it yet. An inspection will be made of both reactors before making the payment, Petkova has also said.
