Close to 30 kg of heroin intercepted in Ciconia Alba operation in Bulgaria

Twelve Bulgarians and two Turkish nationals have been arrested in an international operation held in the territory of Bulgaria. Those arrested face charges for supporting illegal migration. Close to 30 kg of heroin has been intercepted in the operation. Representatives of law-enforcement bodies of 51 countries and four international organizations took part in the Europol-coordinated Ciconia Alba Joint ActionDays operation. In Bulgaria employees of the directorates general Combating Organized Crime and Border Police at the Interior Ministry as well as of Customs Agency took part in the operation.
