An article published in today’s Sega reads that the migration wave through Bulgaria, towards Western Europe has been rising sharply in the past three months, despite the fact that 172 kilometers of fence along the border with Turkey have already been finished and there are only 55 kilometers remaining. A spokesman for the Serbian Defense Ministry yesterday announced that since July 22 Serbia has registered more than 12,000 attempted illegal entries from Bulgaria. 61 traffickers have also been arrested, the newspaper reads. The migrant issue is topical and yesterday the government announced that additional financing to complete the fence along the border with Turkey will be provided.

The Bulgarian press also pays attention to voiced intentions by Bulgarian EU Commissioner Kristalina Georgieva to sue those who spread slander against her. "Standard" quoted Georgieva as saying she would no longer tolerate campaigns that have been going on for long time, aimed at smearing her name. "Patience has its limits. I have been considering taking legal actions,” Georgieva said.

Among the leading topics of the press is a scandal related to Sofia’s returning of Turkish opposition members to Ankara. Sega claims that in addition to the seven known repatriated supporters of Fethullah Gülen, two other people linked to publications revealing embezzlement and corruption in the Turkish government, have been returned to Ankara. The first seven neither had the time, nor the opportunity to appeal their expulsion. The Interior Ministry, however, say the Turkish citizens have not applied for asylum or lawyer, the article reads.

The press also pays attention to the news that charges have been raised against former energy minister Petar Dimitrov over a deal for NPP "Belene". The prosecution may raise charges against other former officials in the coming days, Trud writes. The "Standard" paper quotes the ironic statement of the former minister made upon entering the prosecution that he did not know why they were calling him and said he was there "to participate in the election campaign."
