The two biggest trade unions in the country – the Confederation of Independent Trade Unions in Bulgaria and Podkrepa – are turning down the invitation from employer organizations to sit down to negotiations on the minimum wage today.
The state is proposing a 9 percent rise in the minimum wage, up to 235 euro per month in 2017. Employers say that the planned increase in the minimum wage is not based on any objective indicators and they, in their capacity of social partners have not taken part in negotiating these parameters.
