Government endorses signing of EU-Canada Comprehensive Economic and Trade Agreement (CETA)

The Council of Ministers has adopted a decision for the approval and signing of the Comprehensive Economic and Trade Agreement (CETA) between Canada on the one hand, and the EU and its members on the other. The Canada-EU Strategic Partnership Agreement (SPA) has also been approved.
The government has authorized Bulgaria’s permanent representative to the EU to sign the two documents, under condition of subsequent ratification and of an official commitment by the Canadian government to abolish visa requirements for Bulgarian citizens wishing to visit the country for business or tourism at no later date than  the end of 2017.
