Parliament adopts amendments to Election Code

Seven days before the presidential elections in the country, the National Assembly adopted final amendments to the Election Code.

The number of polling stations in non-EU countries can be no more than 35 per country. The proposal for voting in more than one ballot box by a Central Election Commission decision was rejected. In the case of a majority representation vote for mayors and president and vice-president of the republic the “none of the above” votes will be considered valid when counting the election results. In the case of elections for parliament – proportional representation vote – “none of the above” will not be counted as valid votes and will not affect the 4 percent threshold for entering parliament.
