Sofia Mayor, police and private security guards to tighten security measures in Bulgaria's capital

Better coordination and collaboration that is to ensure better security in Sofia was what Sofia mayor Yordanka Fandakova, the Sofia Police and the National Association of Industrial Security Companies have agreed upon. More than 400 sites are currently monitored around the clock in the Bulgarian capital city as more than 2000 cameras have been placed in various areas of the city. It was agreed that the quality of security at schools and kindergartens, as well as other municipal property, would be increased. At the meeting it became clear that Sofia currently employs over 30,000 private security guards. They are also to provide support during disasters, emergencies and crises, it was reported.
