Representatives of Bulgarian and Romanian tax authorities have met in Veliko Tarnovo and agreed on joint inspections related to high-risk goods transported across the border between the two countries. The aim is to strengthen cooperation in the field of VAT fraud and transport of hazardous goods. Inspectors from both countries have agreed to explore opportunities for pilot joint inspections at the border crossings in Silistra and Danube Bridge 2 - Vidin-Calafat. The discussions are part of a project of the National Revenue Agency in the sphere  of control of intra-community trade through interaction between the administrations of EU Member States in the fight against tax fraud under the program "Hercule III" of the European Anti-Fraud Office (OLAF).
