President Putin’s foreign policy adviser Yuri Ushakov stated in an interview for RIA Novosti that after the election of President-elect Rumen Radev, Moscow was expecting opportunities for more constructive relations with Sofia.

The diplomat made this statement in answer to a question whether he is expecting a normalization in Russia’s relations with Bulgaria and Moldova following the presidential elections in the two counties. RIA Novosti adds that Rumen Radev ran for president with the support of the socialists and that Moscow was pleased with his words that he was ready to work towards a normalization of the relations between the two countries.
