Photo: BGNES

The Bulgarian Judges Association opened a bank account, in order to raise donations that will be used to pay the legal counsel of the detained Turkish magistrates after the coup attempt in Turkey. The money will be wired directly to Germany to the bank account of the European Magistrates for Democracy and Freedoms. Nearly 3,000 judges and prosecutors were dismissed after the coup attempt in Turkey in July. Later, the authorities initiated legal proceedings against them and many of them are still in custody. The Bulgarian Judges Association calls on the Bulgarian magistrates and the Bulgarian citizens to make a financial contribution in support of the Turkish judges and prosecutors.
