Ten months after the adoption of the EU-Turkey Statement the European Commission reported that no major redirection of migrant routes has occurred. 4 or less illegal crossings a day were registered at the Bulgaria-Turkey border during the period. The Commission encourages Turkey’s efforts to complete the delivery of all outstanding benchmarks as soon as possible, the EC further notes in its report.
